Hi,

I'd like to ask whether any HDD activity will reset the HDD idle timer.

The thing is, I frequently have a download queue with JDownloader. What I want to do is if there's no activity AFTER all downloads are finished the HDD will 1st power down, and then the PC, as I frequently leave my PC unattended.

I have set the power management to turn off HDD after 30min of inactivity, and the PC after 3hrs. However, I frequently found after a wake-up that the HDD and/or PC is powered down in the middle of a download.

How can I setup the power management like I want?

TIA

You can't. Look for some 3rd party software that will allow this kind of control.

Maybe you could even do it with a batch file if there is a way to look at the JDownloader queue and see when it's empty, do a shutdown /s /t 0.
