Hello everyone. I thank you in advance for trying to help me with my problem, I sure hope there exists a solution out there...

I'm trying to install STALKER: Clear Sky from the DVD it came on onto a fresh install of Windows7 Ultimate x64, but when I click install, it just gives an error message saying "Setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the software". This is super annoying. I tried google but everyone else who is having this problem is having it with downloaded files. I know for sure this DVD is good because I immediately installed it on my other windows (dual boot 7/xp on 2 hdds) and it worked just fine. I've tried safe mode, installing as administrator, and doing a clean startup but nothing helps. I'm also having trouble installing FSX but that is a whole nother story...

One thing I noticed is that the setup files on the DVD are .bin files. Dunno if that helps at all. Thanks.

Hi, if you are having a general problem with installing software on your PC, it may be worth running a Repair install of Windows 7 from the Install disk.
Is your other PC running a copy of Windows 7 x64 as well?
Also could you please fill in your System Specs under User CP, it can come in very handy for people trying to help you.

Oli

Thank you for the help osholt. I don't have another PC, just 1 with 2 hard drives with win7 x64 on one and winXP x32 on the other so I can boot to which ever I choose when I press power. I didn't think of doing a repair with the win7 disk. I'll try that next. Also, I've added my system specs in case it might help someone.
