Screw all that, just install windows in Legacy mode (non uefi) on a MBR disk

Create 1 partition to install windows on.

I always use a Partition Wizard Boot CD to setup my drive, I delete any partitions on the drive, then I create 1 primary partition out of the entire drive, format it ntfs, set it Active, and align it.

As your installation disk is a USB device, make sure you plug it to a USB 2.0 port and not to the USB 3.0 (Win 7 installation disk doesn't have the USB 3.0 drivers)

That might the primary issue here. I've been using USB 3.0 and I also recall once not being able to install windows with a USB 3.0.

I've asked for help of someone with a bit more expertise than me and he also hasn't been able to do it. He installed Windows 10, therefore I guess I won't be posting in this thread any further.

You can not install Windows 7 using a usb 3.0 port (blue) you must use a 2.0 slot (black)
