Setup was unable to create a new system partition....

Hi,
Yep HAVOC had the same issue with a m.2 he did not bother to share how he finally got the bugger to show up :(
doing a reinstall, which updates to do first?

doing a reinstall, which updates to do first?

I'm sorry that I never posted on how I fixed my issue. The first issue was that the M.2 needed updated firmware. This was only accomplished using Samsung Magician software. I then set boot to legacy instead of UEFI. If UEFI was set, the M.2 drive wouldn't show up in the BBS boot priorities. I then found drivers (.inf files) for the drive, saved those to the root of a thumb drive.
Now that the drive is seen in BIOS, I was able to install Windows. When Windows ask which drive, you have to click on "load driver" then point it to the thumb drive.

If you need a better explanation, I can send you the link to my post on EVGA's forum.

Thanks for the response HAVOC. That is the tough part, I was even told by Samsung that their drivers are only in .exe formats. I was given a set of drivers by Megahertz07. So I'm getting ready to do the install now. Here goes nothing :P

Whelp.... I'm either doomed to have to do this the hard way, or I'm doing something wrong. After changing the settings in my BIOS and I load the installer, when I try to install the NVMe drivers, it loads for a period of time and then says that no new drives were found and I should check my drivers and make sure they are correct. I'm not sure why the drive won't come up. I'm wondering if maybe I have the card installed in the wrong M2 slot? It's currently in the M2.2 so it's in the open space on my MB, should I move it to the M2.1 slot instead? I still have my sights on getting this OS installed properly, I just don't understand why it's giving me such a damned headache...

(EDIT)
Thinking about it, I forgot to mention that NO drives are detected, it pulls up the driver install after clicking "Install Now".

Did not use a RAID, but assuming you weren't talking to me. I'm not sure why it's not working unless for whatever reason the drivers from that site aren't legit??? Windows installer pulls them up just fine (the check box for hiding unrelated drivers is on).

At this point I'm going to give the Win10 install a shot as the NVMe drivers are preloaded. I'm not sure what else to do at this point.

On a side note, why can I not use my HDDs for the UEFI install of Win7, but I can see them when looking for the driver? I would have given installing it on a HDD then cloning it to my SSD a try, but without any devices being found that's a bit difficult. >.<

I'm going to look through your post and see if I can help. I haven't read the whole thing and don't know what hardware you have.

My system specs are updated. Going to read over your thread and see what it says. I'm currently in audit mode moving user profiles in win10... install was a breeze so far.... quite unfortunate tbqh.

I would use the M.2_1 slot (the one closest to the CPU). It's both PCIE and SATA capable.

Well that went extremely well in comparison to what I was trying to do to get Win7 installed. I really hated giving in, but in the end my computer is 100% now and running well. I really wish I could have figured out wtf... and maybe, since my comp is running good, I'll try to do Win7 again... who knows.

Thanks to everyone who attempted to assist me with this issue.

As you have the new computer running well, why dont you try to create the Win 7 installation with the added drives on it.
Try fist the Asus APP.
