My system specs are updated. The issue is the asus utility needs the Win7 install DVD which is not SP1 and I'm trying to use a .ISO file that is a SP1 installer.

Yeah, it's either DVD to USB or DVD to ISO. I already downloaded a SP1 ISO. Again, my issue is the NVMe drivers. My keyboard and mouse work fine during installation, so the USB 3.0 drivers aren't as important as they're being made out to be... for me at least. Relating the the OP, the problem I have is Win7 will not see my Samsung 960 EVO SSD without the drivers being installed. So I'm attempting (not succeeding) to make an installer with the drivers included so I can work around having to install it to a SATA HDD, then clone that disk to the SSD so I can use the SSD as my OS drive.

I wish he posted how he got around the issue. I'm not having a problem with my BIOS detecting the drive, just the Win7 installer. Maybe the SP1 installer will detect it???

Are you installing with service pack included on DVD normally it should see the SSD drive or you can give it drivers during installation. Windows writes a signature to the disk so if you clone and leave both drives in it sees they both have same signature. Swap ports so c is disk 0

I missed this part. Would the SP1 detect my SSD? If not, how would I "give it the drivers during installation"?

- First of all, you must set BIOS to be able to run Win 7. On BIOS, disable fast boot, secure boot and enable CSM (Compatible System Mode). Under CSM, set boot disk priority to UEFI and disable net boot.
- At least you must insert the USB 3 drivers into Win 7 installation disk so during installation you can load the SATA and nvme drivers.
- The easiest way to add the drivers into Win 7 installation disk is to use the Asus app. http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/ASUS_EZInstaller.zip?_ga=1.228515669.9532852.1488762401
- If the Asus app ask to insert a Win 7 SP1 DVD and you didn't burn one, use Magic disk. It will create a virtual CD/DVD drive. Load the Win 7 SP1 iso on it and then point the Asus App to it. Mount ISO Files - Freeware MagicDisc Download
- If the Asus app doesn't add the SATA and nvme drivers into the Win 7 installation disk, you can add them during installation. You will have to copy the SATA and nvme drivers to another USB flash disk.
You must boot the Win 7 installation disk (with, at least, the USB3 drivers added) as UEFI.

At the present time I'm having problems loading Windows 7 pro because it doesn't seem to like (2) M.2 with Raid (0). I have got a couple of emails that might help. I will work on the Windows 7 and Raid (0) with my M.2's tomorrow. I have been working on this for a week about 20 hours a day.
It's time for me to rest and have a couple of "Jacks". If I told all my doctors that I wasn't getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep a day them would Bewitched slap me.

The damn cat is driving me crazy. She sits on the arm of the chair I sleep in and screams at me. When I do get in the chair, she is instantly on my lap so she can go to sleep. Okay, so I'm running into an issue with the install.wim. I'm getting an Error: 5. Access Denied? I can go thru the DISM log file for more information if needed.

If Boot.wim worked, you can move it to the iso file and keep the original Install.wim.
You will be able to install but the installation will end without the USB3 drivers. Than you can load them with the Asus CD/dvd or copy the drivers to a USB flash disk and load them by the the "update drive" on device manager.

Did you try the Asus App with the Magic iso (post 30)?

I'm going to give that a shot now since for whatever reason I'm getting that Access Denied error... even the supposed fix gets blocked by Accesss Denied.... UGHHHHHHHH

Just an FYI, the Asus EZ Installer also installs the NVMe hotfix... should have just done this from the start xD... FML...

AND.... I spoke too soon. I'm getting the same error with the Asus program that I got trying to insert the drivers manually. WHYYY!!!????!?!??

Yes asus media creator should be used
If you need a dvd make one you have the iso all you need is the ability to create and MS also has a free utility to do so all one needs is a dvd

I'm assuming that I have a registry problem. I cannot use the asus tool to add the USB drivers to the ISO, it gets the same ACCESS DENIED error that I get when trying to manually add the drivers. At this point I'm not 100% sure what to do. I've tried to research the issue and so far most of the "solutions" haven't worked, in fact, it seems I just don't have "administrator" permissions even tho my account is administrator and the only user account on the OS...

At this point I don't really know what else I can do other than try and install and have the drivers load there. Wish me luck... :3

Use the usb2 ports and you shouldn't have any issues.

When I'm putting the drivers on the other USB drive, do I have to have that drive formatted a certain way? I'm assuming that I should be putting in the .ini, .sys, etc files and not .exe?

Hi,
Just paste the entire folder in the usb that you have downloaded
The motherboard should of came with a drivers disk you could just use it.
The usb can be formatted ntfs or it's default which is fat32 I believe
I prefer ntfs personally.
