Your HD Tune picture is normal. It very often shows like that. Maybe something was running during the measurements. The numbers are not great, but acceptable.

Generally, for sandforce based drives, the ATTO bench will give results closer to their published specs. AS SSD tends to use incompressible data in its benching process and as a result will give lower performance numbers for sandforce based drives.

My Intel XM-25 120GB SSD has since May degraded in performance on the write side. I've asked Dave76 about his since it's the same drive. I've always run Trim in the SSD Toolbox twice per week early on and the last few months once a week per Intel recommendations. I don't notice it in real use, but I do wonder if this drive will fail early compared to other XM-25s, even though, at the moment, the Health and Life are reported as Good and 100%. I'm thinking when Windows 8 RTM comes out, and if I decide to upgrade, I'll do a complete erase and see what the results are.

The screenshot with the 450 score was from May 2011, the 388 from November 2011. and the 371 from today.

Why don't you backup everything - if it is the OS drive, take an image. Then clean the nands with the Intel tools. Restore afterwards. You may have to realign the SSD - I am not certain how those intel tools work.

I do weekly backups and have an image from the original installation so I'm keeping what you say in mind as a possibility rather than wait for Win 8; but for now this degradation hasn't affected everyday use yet and I'm more interested in taking AS SSD snapshots now and again to document what may be occuring with the drive.

The only numbers that count for the system are the 4K nums. Your Read did not degrade - only the Write. That would have a little effect when you install a program or updates. But your access time has improved. That may make up a bit for that.

Bottom line: You are in good shape.

Agreed. I don't have any complaints about the drive performance in real usage, but I am keeping an eye on its performance out of curiosity and in case a problem does arise within the warranty.

Good advice, that is exactly what I would do, will do at some point.

It's just going from the new state to the used state, normal from what I've read.
You might wait until it is closer to the hammered state before doing the secure erase.

I am willing to bet, that if you run the Intel SSD toolbox (SSD Optimizer) and then leave your PC on overnight at the login screen in safe mode; and then run the bench your results will be noticeably better.
