Hi there,

I recently updated my BIOS, from a super old version 1904 to 3610 on the ASUS website for my motherboard. I figured this would solve my problem but it hasn't. I've been trying several methods, but I feel like I'm downloading way too many programs that I don't even understand. I've tried several ideas from the internet.
I've tried checking to see if I needed to update a driver. I tried deleting a few things, which caused my computer to crash and create a minidump, but it was hanging on the downloading for such a long time, I just shut down the computer. I haven't had this issue before until recently. Prior to this happening, I did move all my video files into my F folder. Do you think this could have caused the hanging on shut-down? During Safe Mode it would shut down quickly. I tried the verifier method to see if I needed to close some drivers, I left the Microsoft drivers on but it ended up giving me the BSOD again during the process. I attached the required zip file from that DM log collector. I'm hoping if one of you can help me solve this issue.

Hope to hear from one of you soon,

Gilly

Re: BSOD on Shut Down

Thank you so much for the prompt reply.

I have done all of the necessary steps that you have suggested. No errors in RAM, CPU, or HDD. I updated my network and I reinstalled my graphics driver NVIDIA V. 397.64. I figured out the issue after doing some further research. I unplugged everything except for my keyboard and mouse. Then restarted the computer. It restarted without any issues. Once I plugged in a USB sound card adapter, I realized that it would hang on restart/shutdown and give me the error to update my graphics driver. The adapter wasn't compatible!

Now I know what to do next: buy a compatible sound card.

Thank you so much for your help.
