Sleep mode stopped occurring automatically

For the past few weeks my computer (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) will not go to sleep automatically, but will if I do it manually. I did several things but still have not solved the issue.

1. I scanned with the command prompt and I got these results:

Errors
System Availability Requests:System Required Request
The device or driver has made a request to prevent the system from automatically entering sleep.
Driver Name \FileSystem\srvnet

Platform Power Management CapabilitiesCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.

2. I changed the setting in network properties to: Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power.

3. I ran powercfg -requests on cmd.exe and got this:

SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] \FileSystem\srvnet
An active remote client has recently sent requests to this machine.

Can anybody give me any advice so that I can get back the availability of automatically going into sleep?

Open an elevated command prompt and run this command:
powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER \FileSystem\srvnet system

You can copy that command and paste it into the cmd prompt window.

You can then enter this command to list the current Power Request overrides:
powercfg -requestsoverride

Thanks. But before I do that, I have a couple questions.

First, if this [DRIVER] \FileSystem\srvnet is keeping my system from sleeping, and it wasn't doing so prior to a few weeks ago, could I just track it down and remove it? I am pretty sure I didn't change anything or download any new drivers, and I have things set not to automatically update.

Second, I can't seem to paste text into the command prompt. I have to type it in. Is that not normal?

I just right click in the cmd window and I can select paste from the menu.

This isn't caused by a change on your PC.
This is a request from something else - another PC, an Ipad, some other device ...

When I try to paste in cmd.exe, nothing happens.

There is nothing else on my network, no other devices.

I don't know why paste doesn't work if you have something copied ...
Maybe something on your PC did make the request ...
I've only run into this with other devices making a request ...

I've looked at processes with task manager, but couldn't find anything. Should I be able to find it?

Just did some reading and it seems playing videos, streaming, etc. on your PC could cause this.

I've had requests prevent sleep even when media isn't currently playing...

OK, I just went and did as you said with the command prompt (gave up the search for the cause), and it looks like everything is working fine again. Thanks very much!

If I may, I have one more question: if it ever turns out that there's some reason to re-allow the request, is there some way to do that?

Yes, but that's not documented in the powercfg help ...
I'll find the instructions and post back.

Here is the command to remove that override
powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER \FileSystem\srvnet

The last parameter (system) in the command to set the override is removed from the command to remove the override

Here are the 2 commands - 1st one to set the override, 2nd one to remove the override

powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER \FileSystem\srvnet system
powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER \FileSystem\srvnet

I have something interesting to report. Just to test, I removed the request override and tested to make sure it was removed. Then I thought I would see what happens if I just left my computer to go to sleep on its own, and to my surprise, the problem seems to have resolved. I haven't yet tried it in every possible situation, but it seems good.
