Hello! After experiencing an electric trip last night, i've been experiencing slow start up (black screen after the windows logo for 5 mins and above) and audio doesn't work.

However after it loads into window and most of the program launched. it can work fine but this has been taking like more than 5 mins and above as well.

The issue is the time for everything to start up.

It only takes like 10 seconds to load everything before last night.

What should i do?

unplug the pc, and battery if its a laptop, unplug the CMOS battery (remembering any BIOS settings you have customised to install again later) unplug all peripherals, including monitors, usb, parallel, serial etc etc then press and hold the power button for a few seconds. repeat this press a few more times to dissipate and charge remaining in board capacitors

now leave the lot for a hour or two. go back, plug everything back in starting with CMOS and leaving power to PC till last.

power on and see how she goes

Ok, will try what u mentioned. No idea its hardware issue since it runs fine after the LOOOOONG start up (the menu from right click on desktop takes very long to load, forgotten to mention this)

it could be anything tbh, power surges are generally pretty bad for IT equipment and a trip can cause/be caused by a surge. so all i'm getting you to do there is flush any latent static and abnormal charges from the system to see if it clears the fault.

if this fails further testing/diagnosis is needed
