Snapped Sandisk Usb

Hi, I have a snapped sandisk edge usb pen.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram so i can get the information off it?
It has snapped straight across after the section what plugs into the usb socket.

I don't think it can be fixed, but you can try.
USB 2.0 has 4 contacts. +5, D-, D+ and 0. You can try to bridge the two parts with a very thin wire.

The standard USB A connector is quite simple

You need to place 5V DC across VBUS and GND which will enable the Data Lines D+ & D- for data extraction/Input

In your case I would probably make a lead from another Pre Wired A type connector - Best would be to solder the 4 connections although you may get away with some small clips

Its where i solder too, as cant see any tracks to solder to

The actual connection points will obviosly be dependent on where the break occured and how much damage was done. It may be that you will require specialist equipment and / or assistance to recover data - I would advise to check professional prices and then you can decide if the self repair or professional recovery is the best option for the value of the data on The stick
