SO close - Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver

Hi People, i tried all the audio driver links in this post and nothing help... I try to use the tutorial that uses Microsoft Update Catalog (wich is very intersting by the way) and didn´t work out... if anyone could help me I will be very gratefull!

I have a HP Pavillion dv1330br with Windows 7 RC1 x86. This is my Hardware ID for Conexant Audio AC:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266E&SUBSYS_3080103C&REV_03
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266E&SUBSYS_3080103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266E&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266E&CC_0401

thanks!

p.s.: when I install Windows 7 RC1 for the first time in this laptop, the windows recognize the audio driver and works perfectly... then a week later he start to have problens when I play DVD in windows media player... (the sound start to be just noise...). Then I start to use windows media center and the DVD play fine. But 2 weeks later the problem start to happen in the media center too... then I try to update the driver for the one in the HP website (for windows XP), and didn´t work... then I try to go back to the previously driver, but the system don´t let me... and now I have this problem... no audio at all!!!

Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver for HP dv8000

Just six months and your link gives a 404 error. I have the following:

Operating System: MS Windows 7 Enterprise (6.1.7600)
Sound
Sound Chip Vendor: Intel Corporation
Sound Chip: 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio
AC'97/HDA Codec Name: Conexant CX20551-22 (Waikiki)

and I'm not able to find a driver. The one HP steered me to for XP/Vista (sp34567) didn''t do it.

Any assistance that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I have an HP DV5000 series - I downloaded the driver for SP35558 (Conexant AC97 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit) - HP Business Support Center) - the install fails with message about can't find media. I then manually updated the driver in device manager (update driver - browse my computer for driver software - let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer - have disk - browse to the c:\swsetup\sp3558 folder - select cp6308Ba file - select Conexant AC-Link Audio - next - yes to the warning about it may not be compatible) - this worked for me on win7 home premium 64bit, good luck to you.

- update: similar procedure worked for me for the corresponding AC97 modem using the sp35736 file (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-51279-1)

Finally!!

:)Oh man! It is about time! I lost a whole weekend to this ridiculous issue of losing my audio when I upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. I knew I would have to reinstall my drivers since I had to do a fresh install. I finally figured out what to do. Ok, for all you Windows 7 x64 installers who have this problem, here is the fix, honestly!

Search for this file SP35558.exe from your favorite driver sites. I got mine from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...scription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=ob-51288-1
This is a Windows Vista x64 Conexant AC-Link Audio driver (AC'97) but since 7 and Vista are same technology, it will work. That is why the upgrade works. :rolleyes:Anyways...

Once you save it, run it (as admin to be safe) and it will unpackage it to c:\swsetup\sp35558 and try to install. Of course it will give the disappointing failure to install.
Open device manager and find your audio device.
Right click it and select "Update driver software..."
click "Browse my computer for driver software"
Choose the "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click the "Have Disk" button
Navigate to the file c:\swsetup\sp35558\cp6308Ba.inf and click Open
Problem solved!!!:D

System fixed: HP Pavilion zv6130US, AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ 2.00 GHz (5 years old and going strong!):p

Using the hardware ID's, I searched and came back with this:

With the solution being the XP 32bit driver from the dv5000 notebook. WTF:mad:....but it works with Win7 32bit OS.

Hasta que por fín! FINALLY!!!!!!!!

 I started working on this about a month and a half ago at no avail, I was hoping HP would develop the Windows 7 CONEXANT AC-LINK 64-bit, but NOOOOOOO!. By the way my laptop is HP DV5000 series. Manually installing the Windows Vista 64-bit driver worked like a charm. THANK YOU SO MUCH

SOLVED! Can anyone point me to the right audio drivers?

None of the previous drivers mentioned in this thread have solved my problem.

PnP ID:

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30A0&REV_1000
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30A0

With the exception of the lack of sound, I am happy to say that Windows 7 looks and runs perfect on this old HP Pavilion DV1000.

Thanks for any help.

SOLVED!!!

In a last ditch effort to get the sound working on the laptop, I installed the XP version of the audio drivers. To my utter amazement, that worked!!!

Hi im having the same problem as everyone else in here. The sound on my Gateway MX7118 is very choppy during playback unless the program is minimized.

I've tried the links posted but most aren't working and the ones that are dont resolve the problem. Hopefully you can help me as i cant seem to solve this on my own.

The hardware ID's

Thank you in advance if you can find the drivers. You seem to be a big help around here.

GBreaux

I'm going to kindof pre-write my next tutorial here so other folks can see how I find these drivers. Ready? Let's go...

Please post back with suggestions, etc. as I'm going to use this post as a source for my next tutorial...

Make this a sticky starting with your post as first.

There is no such option available, how you can see here ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing I can't extract from winzip as you recommended. Could u type step-by-step how u can extract from executable archive plz??

Like he said, used 7zip or WinRAR not WinZip. WinZip doesn't understand how to extract EXE files that are self extracting archives. 7zip is way better than winzip anyway, it's free and it's what all the cool kids are using ;) Download

Sometimes self extracting archives dump the files and proceed to installing the driver. Some what annoying.

Gateway 7320, Win 7, Conexant Audio, No Sound

I'm just about ready to give up! I've located the "correct" win 7 driver at MS Update catalog...downloaded & installed...no sound. I've downloaded the XP driver from Gateway but I can't run the installer (even in compatability mode) and when trying to force the update by manually choosing the driver I get "the system cannot find the file specified" error message.

I'm running a Gateway 7320GZ with Windows 7. The device info is:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C5&SUBSYS_202F161F&REV_03

Any ideas?
