Microsoft FixIt (restore security settings) utility does not run on Win7.

right click on Fix it>>properties>>Compatbility>>run in Vista mode ->then should work or type commands from article manually

OK. Got it to run, but it did NOT help.

The official word that I got from Microsoft support;

"Windows detected that one or more of it's protected system file(s) has been modified (rewritten, replaced or become corrupt) and that when Windows tried to repair the files, it failed. These files can no longer be trusted because they have been modified in some way. Or in other words, the files are Non-Genuine."

After searching the threads here, it seems to be a fairly common issue with Win 7.
