Solitaire.exe!!!

Well, this is my procedure to get a shortcut on my Start menu:

> Open Start Menu.
> Type name of program in search bar.
> Drag shortcut to desktop.
> Drag shortcut from desktop to start menu.
> Drag shortcut from desktop to recycle bin.

This creates a shortcut on the Start Menu, so I don't have Shortcuts on my desktop. I'm OCD and like keeping my desktop clean of everything but files that I need quick access to just for a while and will no longer need afterwords, my recycle bin, and my "My Computer" icon.

Anyway,

I tried this with Solitaire. I failed to realize, however, that I wasn't recycling a shortcut of Solitaire, but the actual .exe.
I emptied my recycle bin right after putting it in there.


Is there any download link or any way I can get the Solitaire.exe for Windows 7?

Use System Restore and restore to the point before you emptied Solitaire.
If you don't know how to use System Restore. Let me know, I can teach you how.

Wow, thanks! I didn't even think about using a System Restore! I don't use it that often, so I often don't consider it at times like this. I'll see if I have any system restore points in the last few days, so I don't lose too much.

EDIT: I just realized, I reinstalled Windows 7 just about a week ago. I don't have any restore points on my PC yet.

If you don't find any restore points to restore from. Consider find a third-party solitaire game online.

Control Panel

Programs and Features

Turn Windows Features On or Off

Expand Games and tick off the ones you want

(make some changes so that it will run the routine but end up with what you want ticked)

When you click ok it should do it's thing.

Sorry, I only have the 32 bit version otherwise I would just send it over.
But you could try this:
go to programs and features and then on lefthand side goto turn Windows features on or off then under the box that says games you'll find the 2 solitaires at the end. If they 're both checked, uncheck them, reboot, go there again and this time check them (you might be asked for the Windows Disk) Then the game should be back on

Clean Desktop

I too like a clean desktop.
Try this. If you don't have any shortcuts on your desktop make one (anything, you can delete it later.)
Go to your task bar and right click. Focus on Toolbars and check off desktop. That should take the short cuts off the desk top and give you a new toolbar via your taskbar. That toolbar will contain the shortcuts that are presently on your desktop. TA-DAH clean desk top.

Actually, it didn't remove the icons on my desktop. But what did was right clicking on my desktop, focusing on "View", and unchecking "Show Desktop Icons".

Thank you very much for that, I knew you could have a toolbar with your desktop icons, but I never thought it would be useful for that.
