Some system files are corrupt.

For a few weeks now, Windows Explorer sometimes stops working after startup. My computer freezes, but Explorer restarts after a few minutes. This usually happens every time I start the computer, but everything is fine after that. I did a sfc scan and found that some system files were corrupt, but it couldn't fix them. Please help. I have attached the log file.

I would try running the tool in Safe Mode, and also doing some diags on the hard drive and the system memory.

I did a check on the system memory and it was fine. When I restarted the computer, it worked as normal. Windows Explorer didn't stop responding this time. I checked the hard disk a few times before and it replaced some bad sectors, so it must some other problem. The fan seems to be on now and then, though. I think some fonts are corrupted.

The next step if System File Checker finds irreparable files and there are symptoms is to try a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R to see if it solves the issues.

If Repair Install doesn't fix it, you'll need to do a clean reinstall as settings or programs which have been reimported during Repair are corrupted even though the OS is reinstalled.

If you have run the HD maker's full diag/repair CD scan before and it repaired sector errors then you need to run it periodically to see if these repeat as the repair might not be permanent. http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

hav yu installed these fonts in recent times...
try doing a system restore dude to some dayz back, when the system was working fine... mostly this shuld work... also if that dint work, ten best thing is to reinstall a fresh copy .., cos Repair will replace only some of the system files not all... so sometimes it won help....

try a restore first, uninstall any recent softwares yu did...

Computer freezes after startup

The same problem has happened again. I tried Safe Mode and the computer works fine. It's the regular mode that causes problems. However, an error said that McAtee antivirus software contained a bad image and recommended that I uninstall/reinstall it. I think the problem is buggy anti-virus software.

Uninstall MucAfee using the special tool from their website, or Revo Uninstaller in Advanced Mode (ignore prompt for restart after it runs uninstaller, instead click Next to cue up hidden registry keys and files to delete).
