If you post your actual issue in the relevant forum here, I'm sure someone will be able to suggest suitable diagnostics software, either built in or third party, or even solve your issue directly.

there are a lot of tools available and it's important that you use the correct one.

Also if you complete your system specs in the user control panel here (UserCP) it will help us to help you

I believe Windows 7 includes a Windows Troubleshooting Platform that can guide you through some steps... but I really think you should explain what the actual issue is. Knowing that could dictate the troubleshooting steps other forum members could possibly provide. Cheers.

Hi clayp,
Please enter your system specs under the 'My System Specs' field (see left bottom corner) then click 'Update Your System Spec'. This way it will always be available and may prove useful and result in a speedier resolution. Cheers...

In addition, run one of the free bootable AV scans to make sure the infection is completely cleaned off the HD and any other attached drives. Many viruses are programmed to hide in running OS files so a boot scan gives them no place to hide since the OS is not running: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List

Avast 5 has a built in Boot Scan for 32 bit Win7 and can stand guard beside MSE for double protection. I would at the least use one or the other.

Also make sure you updated Malwarebytes and run a full scan. It sounds like you got a rogue malware program. Malwarebytes is very good at removing any traces, but I suggest that you boot into safe mode with networking by pressing f8 key while Windows is booting up. Run MAlwarebytes Antimalware and go to the updates tab. Update the program then go back to the scan tab and run a full scan. When it is done remove all found infections, reboot and scan with your AV program you have installed and if you don't have one, Google Microsoft Security Essentials, find, download and install it. Update it and run a full scan with it just to be sure and leave MSE there. It is a great, light and free Antivirus program.

Yes, but a little more bloated than MSE or Avast 5 which are the leanest, meanest free AV's.

By Bloated I mean you may notice it working, whereas you hardly notice Avast 5 if you turn off its annoying update announcement (in Sounds) and MSE is as close to invisible as an AV gets.

I can tell no difference in performance running MSE than running without it.
