I didn't find any similliar problem on the forum.

This kinda happens to me on every version of w7 so far - when I play music after some time (random 1h - 6h) the sound suddenly goes into a loop of half a second, you know like a jammed cd.

Not using any external hdd or smth. Have the Conexant newest update.

Help? ^^

Alc1200, same problem. Playing music/sounds makes the OS go into infinite loop. Had bluescreen problem with Atheros L1 too, but managed to get a working driver through windows update. No such luck with the soundcard. The sound problem has been around since the first public beta and still keeps on going. Annoying, as I'd really like to take a tour longer than 15 minutes . .

. . solution, anyone?

Hello,

Maybe a better mp3 codec like LAME can be usefull here.

Since I get W7 RC I also install this codec pack I found in this forum : Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs

I don't know if it can solve yours problems but you can give it a try ! :)

No dice. Now I'm getting constant snaps and pops during playback, right before the infinite loop kicks in. Due to the nature of the problem I'm having hard times to pinpoint the exact cause of the crash, as there are no logs created about the event. Depressing. The soundsystem has managed to crash even during login ie. the playback of the windows boot-up theme. Oddly enough, the OS has also crashed into infinite loop few times even without sound playback.

I'm using vanilla ASUS P5Q, are there any known problems with this board and the OS?

same Problem here ...
tried another sound card (on the MB) - didn't help. Original sound card is M-Audio (no official driver for win7, with the vista driver).

it crashes most of the time when two apps are running and one of them is a sound-app (browser, audio player, videoplayer). No blue screen, nothing in event viewer, no crash dump ...

win7 x64; i use SPDIF on both SC; Phenom X4 on GA-770T UDP3

edit: ITS NOT A WIN7 PROBLEM, its actually a some kind of hardware problem. I tested the same system with XP - same problem. IDE, AHCI mode ... doesn't matter. Microsoft driver, ATI driver ... the same.
Everytjing in BIOS is by default.
