Sound not working at all after clean install of Windows 7

I've plugged them into the USB at the back, along with the green and pink ports at the back, still doesn't work.

Edit: Also, when my old headset was working and sound was playing through it, my phone earphones weren't working in my computer. I was changing them between ports while audio played, the headset worked, the earphones didn't.

I don't understand this at all.

Go to Device Manager and open up Sound, video and game controllers. Do you see any yellow triangles.

Yes I checked them all and rebooted, I'll try it again now though just to double check.

I don't know why there are nVIDIA audio devices.:confused: Uninstall them to see what happens.

Okay I uninstalled them, nothing seems to of happened.
I also used Driver sweeper on Realtek again, rebooted, and Realtek is still there..

This is weird! Have you tried running the Realtek driver I linked to earlier? Check in you BIOS to verify that you have onboard audio is indeed enabled. Change it to HD as well.
I will ask for others to help also.

Just a note, I've often had trouble getting my sound to work after a new install too.

Sorry the driver sweeper deleted all the files except for one, it says "Realtek - Sound"

Should I uninstall Realtek manually, THEN use driver sweeper, THEN use the one you linked me earlier?

I downloaded it but haven't ran it yet, because Realtek was still there.

HD audio controller is Enabled, I also changed Front panel type to HD.

I also changed the sound type in the Audio manager to HD, it proceeded to say "You have unplugged an audio device" and disabled "Speakers" in playback devices.

When I change it back (In the audio manager, not bios) to AC97, speakers is enabled again.

There was a brief moment, when I changed it to HD, when it popped up for me to select the device I just plugged in, but it was there for literally 1 second and went away again..

Going to try the troubleshooter.

Audio troubleshooter didn't detect any problems.

I also checked System restore, the only restore points are from today..
