SP1 Install Failure 8024200D

I have had the same problem trying to install SP1. The error I get says that SP1 can't verify your version of windows. I also can't install IE9 as well.

One thing I probably should have mentioned is that this is installed on a BootCamp partition of a MacBook Pro. Not sure if that sheds any light on the issue, but I just wanted to throw it out there.

That could well have something to do with it. Even with it formatted to NTFS you could try the "mountvol /e" command to see if that helps any.

If the SP installer doesn't find 7 on a volume it considers readily accessible the install will simply stall sometimes with an error message. Yet the exact same error can also point to a few other things as well as seen when going to the MS page linked in the error screen.

Hi,
I have a Win7 Home Edition 64Bit laptop.
No CDs provided these days with a new laptop.
System came pre-installed.
I did restore the system from the recovery DVD I created just after completing setup. In order to be sure all was working correctly, and DVD was fine. I figure from what I have read above this could be the issue?!

I have ZERO pirate software installed, with all other windows updates installed sucessfully, and maybe one week with a fresh windows installed.

I can not install SP1 via Windows Updates.

I'm now downloading the stand alone version to give it a try.
I will post the results soon.
Thanks

Hello,
So I've managed to get SP1 installed on Windows 7, with no problems or errors.
I downloaded the standalone version "windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe" and thats it.

All problems solved, all updates installed.

I am having the same issues with SP1 and Windows 7. I have:

1. Ran sfc/ scannow. Some errors were identified and a reboot was necessary.
2. Reboot the PC and ran sfc /scannow again. This time with no errors.
3. Ran Fix It.
4. Ran SURT

5. Reboot PC
6. Ran windows update to no avail.

I can get this to work. I am now going to try and download the SP1 .iso file (~1.90 GB) and see if that works. I will report when done.
