I have a HP Pavilion p6267. For some reason, I have no sound coming out of my stereo speakers or headphones (rear panel and front panel respectively). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek Audio Driver, downloaded the new update for the driver (which supposedly fixes an HDMI issue), entered BIOS setup and enabled onboard audio, all to no avail. The speakers and headphone symbols in the playback manager says "Not Plugged In." I have an HDMI cord running to my television. The computer acknowledges this connection, but no sound from the TV. I have unplugged the HDMI cord and tried the speakers and headphones; no go.

I've confirmed that the speakers and headphones are working properly as I have hooked up both to the headphone jack on an iPod.

Any help to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the HDMI output selected as the Playback device, when right clicking on the volume icon in the tray?

I have no idea what happened, but the problem solved itself. Computer went to sleep, I woke it back up, problem solved.

Thanks.
