SSD partitioning

some time back, I got rid of my HD and got a new Kingstone SSD which I partitioned into two parts and I installed Windows 7 on the bigger partition. Now my C drive is almost full.

Can I use Partition Magic or any other software to reuninte (so to say) both partitions into one without reinstalling Windosws or any of my software?

Probably.

I assume the SSD has a C and a smaller partition.

What's on the smaller partition and how large is it?

Post a screen shot of Windows Disk Management if possible.

Do you have some other hard drive, maybe an external, that can temporarily hold whatever is on that smaller partition?

Sure, but use Partition Wizard.

Just delete the partition you no longer want then extend C to take up the unallocated space.

Why did you get rid of your hard drive ? You should be using it for storage.

I would recommend to make an image of the C partition before you start manipulating it - you never know. Extending the C partition into an unallocated space that is to the right of the C partition should work with Disk Management too.

It's all completed successfully, this is what I did:
1) created an image of C: on portable hard disk
2) copied all that was on D onto the portable hard disk
3) Downloaded and installed Aome Partition Assistat
4) In Partition Assistant I "merged" both partitions



The process if merging took a very long time so I guess the software made an image of C then formated the partitions then restored that image

Ya, there was no need for the program to do all that, but as long as it worked and you`re happy, that`s all that matters.

I would check to see if the ssd is still aligned properly.

LOL, Looks like you took the backroads. But as long as it worked, that's OK. Normally it should only take a few seconds to extend a partition with unallocated space. But making an image first is always a good thing.
