Hey i have a windows 7, it got stuck while i was using the laptop and i pressed the power button to shut it down, now when i start my laptop again it goes to the chkdsk and it says deleting index entry and seems like deleting some files. but never comes back online. everytime its done 100% it goes restart and then again go to the same chkdsk screen.

Note: i cant open any thing on the computer so no software i would be able to use it to fix. it doesnt go after the chkdsk stage.

Please help

Thanks

Use the Repair CD or DVD to run Startup REpair if you're not.

If it won't find an installation to Repair, choose Command Line to run bootrec.exe /fixboot and bootrec.exe /fixmbr commands to see if it will find Win7, then run Startup Repair repeatedly.

If not you can possibly copy out your files using the DVD/Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then run Factory Recovery if Win7 came preinstalled, or use the DVD to clean reinstall following these tips to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

Its not taking the installation CD or any CD inside. It doesnt even go inside.. i think the CD drive is broken or something?

if you have the Disk OS 7, like gregrocker said. just load it the disc and try to reinstall the OS.

Do you have another CD/DVD drive to swap it?

Or using another computer you can write Win7 installation DVD to a flash stick using UltraISO trial version: on File tab Open DVD, on Bootable tab Write DIsk Image, Format, Write. Now you have an installer for repairs or reinstalls.

If it won't repair from flash stick, you can copy out your files with this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then run Dell Factory Recovery Dell Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

Or use the installation DVD to clean reinstall following these steps to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7
