Sudden laptop crash and bootloop

I was using my laptop writing a small C# program for a college assignment and once i was finished i saved my work, went over to the college forum to post up the file and suddenly the whole laptop stopped responding. This laptop is NOT the computer that i have written down in the specs section of my profile, this is a completely different laptop.

Either way, the mouse stopped working, so i tried ctrl+alt+del, that didn't prompt anything on screen either. Then i removed the charger and came to the conclusion that the screen was frozen completely because the charging icon didn't disappear. Then I made the stupid decision of removing the battery before I tried holding the power button for more than 30 seconds. After removing the battery, the screen stayed on, still frozen. At this point the fan was going crazy and the laptop was heating up.

I wasn't using much RAM, no games or anything were open, it was just Chrome and Notepad++ and then suddenly this happens. Either way, when i start up again i see the BIOS password prompt and then the BIOS startup disappears and the screen stays black. This is as far as i can get.

Has anyone encountered anything like this before? I don't want to try tweaking anything before actually knowing what i'm doing in case i just brick the whole laptop.

I don't have the specs for the laptop, seeing as i can't actually start it up to check, but it's running Windows 7 home premium, and it's a Samsung build. I don't know much else about it because I don't really use it that much.

I'm more surprised it stayed on for a bit after you took out the batt with no ac connected to it lol, sounds like something hardware related certainly got messed up on it. you have password that is required to turn it on normally, that bios prompt is always there?

Every time I turn it on it prompts what looks like a BIOS password as usual, but after typing the password it black screens. Either way, it's always there.

I have tried accessing BIOS or safe mode but after trying the many combinations of F keys I still can't access the BIOS or safe mode. The screen turns black, then the laptop restarts.

If you take the hdd out can access the bios? Are you the owner of the laptop or is it loaned to you? Reason I ask is it may be a power on password and a get in bios (supervisor) one.

Why do you have a BIOS password which is used by companies to lock down their PC's against theft or intrusion? All a consumer needs is to password Windows. If your BIOS password fails then it is almost always unrecoverable without willing support from the OEM which is rarely forthcoming if not under active registered warranty.

That said work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which first checks for infection since Win7 may not repair if it is infected.

At any point you can rescue your files from Step 5 in tutorial, then everything possible that can be done to start Win7 including hardware tests is listed, leading up to if necessary doing a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is a much better install than the Samsung factory bloatware anyway.

Nevermind, the laptop just let me access Startup Repair suddenly. I was trying to open the BIOS and suddenly it just blackscreened and gave me the option to access Startup repair. Problem solved.

Also, the laptop isn't actually mine. My dad lets me use it for programming, and he's the one who added the BIOS password.
