system is not starting..

hi guyz..

i just baught this machine few days back...
and sometimes when i try to start it, it wont starts..after 2-3 attempts it start and a message appears on screen before boot that "previously processor shutdown due to overheating"....i dont knw why this is happening and what to do?...
* the temp of room in which the machine is not hot..
1) this could harm my machine or not?
2)what should i do?

please guide me

1. Yes this can hurt your system.
2. open the machine and make sure all fans are running
3. if all fans are running try to re-seat the CPU heat sink and fan.
4. If overclocking undo it. Reset BIOS back to defaults.

open the case up, and see if the cpu fan is spinning.

it's very dangerous to your cpu - it will get hot very quickly.

take it to the person or shop where you bought it from.

If it is a laptop, it likely needs to be taken apart cleaned out and have new thermal paste applied.

It's a bit of a process and you may need someone to handle the cleaning for you.
The tiny air spaces in laptops get clogged up regularly, it's also possible the fan is not working at all.

hmm... on a desktop. I'm guessing the cpu fan and heatsink need replacing then.
Unless it's the northbridge in which case he probably needs a new mobo.

Its easy to open the side of the case and see if the fans are spinning. As for re-seating the CPU heat sink and fan this could be a tricky process due to motherboard and fan setup. I would recommend taking it to a local repair shop if your not sure on that one.
