I have only one question.Do you have on any partition autorun.inf files? There was many querries to these files. As I said in any previous post hard to say you have such kind of files or not,the better way to check yourself in any 3p i.e Total Commander -if you have such kind of files that means you have some trojan in your system.Independly the answer is yes or now I recommend use Windows live One Care Windows Live OneCare safety scanner: Free online tool for PC health and safety to scan and diagnose all potential issues in your system

Try also reset security settings to defaults by using both methods

1.How do I restore security settings to the default settings? (for you is applicable method for Vista)

2.Try also this soft Rizone Security Restore 0.2.2.228 | Rizonetech 2

...and no more idea - if these softs also does not fix problem you have to contact with MS Support...

Try also reset all settings for Task Scheduler service -import this fix to registry (this i completly different fix than fixes attached in my tutorial) View attachment 94055 + restart -If it doesn't work do that what I said in post 63.

I'm just preparing tutorial about WU issues due to CLFS transaction logs issue...and I found it that issues with CLFS transaction logs may cause issues with TaskScheduler, perfmon, system health report too...

So try reset CLFS transaction logs in three ways:

1.Follow to this MS article You cannot change the settings for a file backup operation or use Windows Task Scheduler to change the defrag schedule in Windows Vista (I suggest use built-in "MS Fix it" program)

2.Manually "hard method"

Try reset transaction in harder way:

Boot system in "safe mode with command prompt" (see also Advanced Boot Options
)

and type:

cd %windir%\system32\config\txr

press ENTER

attrib -r -s -h *

press ENTER

del *

press ENTER

cd %windir%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine

press ENTER

attrib -r -s -h *

press ENTER

del *.TM*

press ENTER

del *.blf

press ENTER

del *.regtrans-ms

press ENTER

if any command return error unable to delete file because file is used go to point 3 -you have to do that from from your installation disk level

3.The hardest method -Boot your installation disk

Choose language>>repair computer>>command prompt

and type:

cd /d C:\Windows\system32\config\txr

press ENTER

attrib -r -s -h *

press ENTER

del *

press ENTER

cd /d C:\Windows\System32\SMI\Store\Machine

press ENTER

attrib -r -s -h *

press ENTER

del *.TM*

press ENTER

del *.blf

press ENTER

del *.regtrans-ms

press ENTER

Just a follow-up on an OLD thread. It is now mid-April 2012, and I am seeing this same type of error:

Task Scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error Value: 2147549183

FYI. (Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit SP1)
