Testing a system repair disk.

I have created a Systen Repair disc by the manual method of creating an iso file and burning it to disc. Before I store it away "In a safe place" is there any harm in testing it to make sure it is OK?

Nope, not at all.

The only thing that would hurt it really is if you scratched it badly.

Excellent idea that you actually ARE testing it; ditto recovery discs that one sometimes has to make manually - be wise before the event

The recovery disk is a stand alone disc of course. I have downloaded and burnt to disc the applications that came with my PC but other applications that I use, I have the installation discs so can always re-install if the worst came to the worst. I do keep a seperate copy of all the licence and activation numbers that I collect. All my data is backed up on an external hard drive and the main storage is another external so I keep next to nothing in the way of data on the PC's "C" drive.
BTW The recovery disc works fine so I burnt a second to be safe! Ultra cautious me

You're right, it's always good to have a back up.

You could put extra imaging , partitioning , etc apps. on the repair disc - very handy.
