Hi Everybody,

I have an odd situation for my computer skills.

After few years today suddenly I got this error: the user profile service service failed the logon user profile cannot be loaded

I am in Windows 7 Home Premium and I have only one user account which is administrator too.

I am running in safe mode now and have already tried to fix it with the OPTION ONE To Fix the User Account Profile with no results.

I am trying to use the OPTION TWO but can't create a new account in safe mode, could you help me please

Hi MadMatt71 welcome to SevenForums

Have you taken a look at the tutorial below

:ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...d-logon-user-profile-cannot-loaded.html?ltr=U

See if you could create a User Account from the Command Prompt.

Open up an Elevated Command Prompt. Click on :orb: type in CMD inside Search Programs and Files. Right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose Run as administrator . On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . Command Prompt opens up to C:\Windows\System32>_

Type this command below

net user /add useraccountname
press <ENTER>

   Note
useraccountname is the new user account you want to create

Then type in this command to add the newly created user name to the Administrators group

net localgroup administrators useraccountname /add
press <ENTER>

Hi VistaKing,

I have created a "new account admin" without password, then re-booted from safe mode and the new windows opening screen had 2 accounts: the new admin and the old admin.

I used the new admin account but I find the pc is quite slow and keeps asking the password of the old admin account,is it normal?

I tried- while logged-in with the new admin account to add/remove accounts from control panel with no success.

I would like to:
1) create a new account for day to day- standard account
2) transfer all files from old admin account to new admin account or standard account? what do you suggest?
3) cancel the old admin account that is corrupted

Is it the correct approach to fix the issue?
Could you assist me for those steps?

Thanks

yes the standard admin account is the one I created from first day of use. I've backed up the data on and external hard drive.
So I just need to delete the old admin account, let's see if the system allows me to do it from control panel.

Exactly like that inside the command prompt .

From there we will then go into the registry and check something there .

I did it but nothing happened, is there a space between sid and >? does it matter (the space)?

When you say: "Upload the UserAccounts.txt file with your reply", do you mean upload in here?

Ok let's see something in the registry . Click on the :orb: type REGEDIT inside Search programs and files box . When REGEDIT comes up under Programs (1) right click on REGEDIT and choose Run as administrator . On the User Access Control click the Yes button .

Inside the Registry navigate to

Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
     ♦ SOFTWARE
        ♦ Microsoft
           ♦ Windows NT
              ♦ CurrentVersion
                 ♦ ProFileList
You will see

S-1-5-21-724269861-727063738-2825992131-1000 and others . Let me know if any of the SID keys end with .bak

Looking at the UserAccounts.txt did you enable the hidden Administrator ? The SID key is
S-1-5-21-724269861-727063738-2825992131-500

Lets see something

Open up an Elevated Command Prompt. Click on :orb: type in CMD inside Search Programs and Files. Right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose Run as administrator . On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . Command Prompt opens up to C:\Windows\System32>_

In the command prompt type in the command below

REG QUERY "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" /s > %userprofile%\Desktop\UserAccounts.txt
press <ENTER>

   Note
Include the quotes inside the Command Prompt. There is a space before and after /s and a space after >

Upload the UserAccounts.txt file on long with your post . Should be located on the desktop .

Hi VistaKing,

attached the file you asked me.

In order to have it I had to run in safe mode with my old admin account as the new admin account in normal windows is very very slow and keeps asking for the password of the old admin account.

What are the next steps from here?

Thank you

Hi VistaKing,

I've done it as suggested and now the PC is "thinking" so not a final answer yet.

Would like to add two comments:

1) Matteo is my original admin account and the only account I had, the one from the first day of use
2) madmatt is another admin account (without password) I've created after your advices

Before talking to you I tried the FIRST solution the Forum proposed for the issue, to modify the .bak and so on...but didn't work

Obviously when the laptop has finished I tell you if I ma still able to login normally to my original account- Matteo
