Hawaii's volcano is erupting more recently.. I'm wondering if that was a pre-runner to this earthquake in Japan..I did see on the news there has been a lot of after jolts in Japan today. Praying this will settle down quickly.

Japan is wayyyyy advanced and they'll recover in no time. In fact, earthquakes are no surprise for them. My prayers are with those who lost their homes and lives.

Wellll, they may be way advanced, but the tsunami will have dumped an incredible amount of water, debris, soil, and all of it potentially deadly. Oils, chemicals, etc. It will take years, if ever to clean up the areas hit by the tsunami. A Guy

Along with reports of one of their Nuke plants that's overheated already.. no way so far to cool it down.. that's very scarey. As if they don't already have enough to be concerned about.

Just had my second "there is something badly wrong with your computer Sir!" phone call in 6 months!
I can't believe that these people are getting away with this still.
If you've not heard of this scam and are not that computer savvy you could easily fall for it so watch out and warn your old mum etc.
What happens is I get a call, addressing me by name, saying "our engineers have identified that there are serious errors with your computer"
The guy goes on to explain that the errors are so serious that "your computer could fail completely and you will lose everything"

He then asked me to open Events Viewer. As we know this will show lots of errors (at least 4 which is what he says).
It seems the only way to save my precious computer and all its contents is to download this special software from a site and install it.
Naturally at this stage I told him to get a proper job and stop trying to scam people but I assume that this would be some serious malware I'd be voluntarily installing.
If anyone knows what happens next please let us know but it is obviously a scam and one which people who had never looked at their Events Viewer could easily fall for.
I asked him why he was being so helpful and concerned about the well being of my pc and he didn't have an answer

I got one of these calls and he addressed me by name the day after I had my new phone line installed at my new house, as I hadn't given the number to anybody I can only assume that somebody in the BT call center is passing the info on

z3r... that burns me up.. why we have to use those people to do such
sensitive business for the USA.. we need those jobs back in the USA.. FAST !!!..
where we can keep our personal info. secure. Heads would roll here in the USA if this kind of breach happened.

It happens all over the globe. I know of people with unlisted numbers here in Germany, in USA, in Scandinavian countries who have received these calls.

Some employees from the network operator company sells the phone number dumps to ads agencies to get some good cash. Its very common here as well.

It's against the law here to sell anyones personal business unless they agree...
such as phone numbers or anything else.

True, I think they just pick random numbers and of course there are always going to be some that are actual phone numbers, the joys of the technology age.

My name and phone number are on so many databases. All the online retailers I've ever used, Amazon, CCl, Asos etc, plus the various internet services, the utility companies, my own 'phone company and ISP.
My understanding is that various tranches of people's personal details can be bought quite cheaply by the tens of thousands. The cost can vary with the nature of the information.
My friend has a friend has a friend who knows an Albanian gentleman who can provide such cd disks, allegedly ( although this is no reflection on the overwhelming majority of Albanians, who are jolly nice folk).
Cybercrime is a huge phenomenon that get's bigger everyday.

Just look on the back page of Exchange and Mart in the UK for lists and lists of addresses and phone numbers. The cost of these lists is reflected in the degree of filtering all the entries have had!!

Today seems as good a day as any to share what has been happening in my life lately with my fellow members.
last month i had a psychotic episode that was allegedly brought on by smoking a tiny amount of cannabis.
Foolish ,i know but i knew not what i did ,anyhow this psychotic episode has made me see the many errors of my way and has introduced me to a profound belief in god ,for a great number of years i was agnostic and felt that religion was something that people cling to as a way of coping with life . how true i find myself thinking .
I also found myself believing all sorts of wierd and wonderful things. and that everyone in the world is aware who i am . ,im still in psychosis so i still am unsure what is real and not but i feel i am being guided to be the best i can be. this of course will take some time as i am lacking in many areas . i have been unemployed for over 16 years and have to start again with education as the starting point, i used to think i had a degree in the university of life and although a fresher i still can use my experiences to aid and help myself and others around me .
so ,this is where i thank all my fellow members for their help and consideration and for putting up with my selfishness and lack of consideration for them.
im still aware but confused much of the time so with any luck my black mood swings will clear as i progress .my family could do with me lightening up a bit also .its tough for them living with my illness and depression but more recently i am trying to change for the better.
i have had a great deal of stress in my life and i am trying to balance that .i guess you could call me a flip flop .i wouldn't want to wear me in this condition so time to polish up my act and get on . sorry for the screed but i think getting things out there is helpfull.
life is getting better.

ps ,they are uping my dosage of medication hahahah!
