Hi All,

I am facing a strange situation in one my windows 7 PC. The PC is under corporate network as well as corporate control. So all the access are restricted.

I am trying to access this below internet site, in various ways; such as browser and command prompt(application).

URL : http://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2...n-clean-plugin/2.5/maven-clean-plugin-2.5.pom

This is my maven repository site(used in application development). If I hit this in browser, I am getting response from this site. But the URL while accessing in command prompt(application) i am getting connection refused.

When i analyses the situation; I found only this particular site, HTTP port(i.e. 80) was disabled. If telnet for the same site. I am getting "Connection refused" error. like telnet repo.maven.apache.org 80

If i try with other site with port 80, say for an example; telnet google.com 80. It works. i am getting positive response.

In home network(open internet), everything fine. No issues.

So why this particular site alone HTTP port was blocked only command prompt NOT in entire system? Is that possible to block alone in command prompt ? what would be the root cause?

Regards,
Jerald.

You really need to contact the corporate IT staff about this. Only they will have the knowledge of the network necessary to understand the situation.
