Unable to access router's configuration

Hi, I have the TP-Link wired TL-R600VPN router. I was able to access its configuration page from my PC and set the security so that only the PC's MAC address would be able to access it. Now my PC's monitor died and I tried accessing the router's configuration from my laptop, and obviously the access was denied as the MAC address is different. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

If you have remote desktop setup on that computer you could remote into the the computer without a monitor other than that you may have to reset the router or if you have a computer running linux and you know the mac you could spoof it and logon

I would try power cycling the router. Unplug the router for about a minute or so then plug it back in let it reboot. Then try and access the router configuration page. If that doesn't work post back and we can go from there.

Thanks, power cycling did not work, remote desktop would've been great but unfortunately did not set it up earlier, mac address spoofing requires Linux, maybe I should search this option by setting a Linux machine in VMWare. Eventually the easiest solution will be replacing my dead monitor

Instead of power cycling press the reset button for 10 to 30 seconds that should get you back to square one and the router should be set the same as you got it out of the box

Thanks sm156!! That sounds really easy. Fortunately I did a backup of the router's custom configuration so after the factory reset I can restore it back. I will report after I try this.

I agree with sml. If power cycling did not do anything to resolve the issue; then re-setting the configuration to factory defaults should hopefully get ya back up and running.
