Unable to Run Windows Update (Win 7 Pro)

I have been unable to run Windows Update for a couple of months. I have tried everything but to no avail.

1. I have run SURT several times successfully but it did not correct the issue.
2. I run SFC Scan and get the following:
"Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"
3. Windows error code: 8007370B (see attached png)
4. CBS.zip is attached.

You have a considerable amount of registry corruption, and an unknown amount of file corruption (I can see no sign of SFC having run)
I would suspect that the easiest solution is going to be a repair install.

I'll ping our registry expert - he may have a better idea of how reparable this install is.

SFC would not run at all. I just purchased RegHunter two days ago to see if fixing the registry would help. It corrected over 2000 registry errors according to the log but I still could not update. (Couldn't before either). I'm assuming you mean a repair install of Win 7, correct?

Correct.

I would recommend undoing anything that RegHunter may have done, and then claiming a refund as unfit for purpose - There is no such thing as a registry cleaner worth the money (and that includes the free ones).

I went back to the original register back up for RegHunter and got the same results as before.

1. Ran SURT -- ran OK.

2. SFC Scan -- "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"

3. Error code: 8007373B

4. CBS.zip(2) attached

I've tried to do a Repair Install with my original Win 7 64bit SP1 disc but get an error and Compatibility Report with nothing in it (see attached). First time I ran it it told me that iTunes was incompatible and I should remove it. I did so but that apparently did not help.
