Even with using Revo I have seen that the entries under <user>\AppData\Roaming\whatever are not removed.

This is inconvenient, to say the least, when trying to do various schemes of backup and record-data for upgrades/changes/new-PC etc.

Any advice?

I guess you are right. I have observed also that Revo does not remove everything. I guess the only option is to do it manually or try another uninstaller - which I have not tried yet.

Best Free Program Uninstaller

Having read the article, it seems that none of the uninstallers look at the AppData entries. Maybe it is too dangerous to do automatic deletions there.

Geek Uninstaller

Well I use Geek Uninstaller on my 64bit system from time to time but mostly I rely on CPM to monitor installs and fully remove all files/ folders and registry entries other than shell bags.

https://www.comodo.com/home/support-maintenance/programs-manager.php

Suggest:

Reinstall a problem program that creates the AppData folders that you want to remove then try either of the above to see if the folders are removed.

Geek Uninstaller can be run anytime on demand.

CPM requires installation before installing new software as it can then monitor installs. It's capability is limited when uninstalling software that was installed before CPM was installed.

The reason why it does not delete anything within AppData is because that is user data. Revo does not know whether that information is important or not.

@logicearth. Makes sense.

Which means that an app that monitors installs is the best way to go.
