Hi Guys,

I've installed windows 7 build 7048 on a computer a couple of months ago. And now I've bought an upgrade version of windows 7 home premium. I've got a vista home premium licence as well. Is there any way I can update the computer without having to reinstall windows?

Greets,
Milan

Hi Milan, welcome to the forums
Is that upgrade technically possible? apparently yes
Would I recommend it? No

It would be like upgrading a Fiat Punto putting a Ferrari engine on it (from your name I suspect you know what I mean). Will it run? Possibly? Will you end up with a bunch of loose ends where things can go wrong? Definitely.

The RC was not the finished version and many things were changed under the hood to come to the final version. You might be setting yourself up to headaches in the future.

Recommendation: use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer your files and do a clean install.

Let me know if we can help with that
