Optional means it's not necessary so I've been avoiding the optional updates. This was the one that originally had the infamous GWX update in it and, even though MS claims it doesn't have GWX anymore, I simply do not trust it (I don't trust MS anymore, period).

No indication that GWX is part of this update. I think the GWX debacle is well & truly in the past & is no further worry.
