Solved USB 3.0 Ports Not Working

Hey can you help me out I also have a similar problem. I got a new ADATA Nobility NH03 1TB USB 3.0 External HDD and it works on the USB 2.0 ports but it is not recognized at all on the 3.0 ports, the device still lights up when I plug it into the port but nothing happens on the pc. My motherboard is an ASRock 870 Extreme3.

Have you downloaded and tried to install the latest driver from your board manufacturer for USB 3.0? I had, but it would not install. If you are having the same issue look through device manager for any drivers that are not operating properly? Mine was Accusys and it did not belong as I had no products from them installed on my machine. Also 2 versions of the Accusys driver were in device manger with one of them being a hidden driver. If this is the case, just follow Hpalong X's excellent instructions in this thread and you should be up and running in no time. If you need any additional help let me know and I will try to help.

i had the same problem (windows 7 64bit usb 3.0 not working) i got this driver from a computer store and it worked.. i uploaded it here : USB3_Win7_64_Z301191.zip

Did it work then stop or never worked? Does it work with USB 2.0 devices? Check yourbios and make sure USB 3.0 is turned on.

even when i put my mouse it was not working
now my mouse is working

I dont know how to chk in Bios if USB is on

If the mouse is working in that port it is probably driver related. I will try to find you the latest USB 3.0 drivers for your machine. Also what USB 3.0 device are you trying to use in that port?

So I don't know what exactly happened... but out of nowhere all 4 of my usb 3.0 devices stopped working. I think it might have to do with some driver updater tool I downloaded... it updated a couple drivers but not sure if that is what caused it. I did uninstall it though. I also scanned for spyware and viruses and nada.

If I plug in a usb 2.0 device they are detected, but no USB devices are.

This is the motherboard I have

I have uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled them from my disk and the site... and nothing helps.

The drivers on the link you gave are quite old and had problems. Make sure you have uninstalled your USB 3.0 drivers then try this link to get new ones. This is where I get my USB 3.0 drivers from. Let me know how you make out.

What I did was install the older drives but when it was checking for updated ones at windows.com I clicked skip and then it worked.

I'm Having this Issue

Hello Everybody,
This happened suddenly, my USB 3.0 ports were working fine, I Use an external USB 3.0 Seagate Drive and I had no Issues before.

Suddenly it is just not working, I connect my drive to my usb 3.0 ports and nothing happens, the small led on the drive turns on, I connect an USB Mouse to the usb 3.0 ports and it doesnt works, but the laser flickers and it doesn't works as well.

I can use all of my other usb 2.0 ports, with my external drive and my mouse but just can't use my usb 3.0 ports now on.

I've reinstalled the drivers a couple of times, the ones that I've found on Gigabyte site and the ones that I found at Etron site as well, nothing works for me.

I've entered on my bios and checked if usb 3.0 was on and it is.

USB ports not working in MSI MS7817

I just bought a custom build win 7 pro, 32 bit, based on MSI motherboard MS-7817 (H81M-E34). At first only the two usb ports near the ethernet jack worked. I used the MSI driver download utility, rebooted, windows update, and that got the two front panel USB ports working.

However, the 4 usb3.0 ports on the back, near the top, were still not working. I went to the MSI support site for this motherboard,
downloaded the Via usb 3.0 driver.exe, that got the remaining usb ports working.
