Ever since I moved into my new apartment a month ago I've been having problems with my USB mouse. I got a new one for christmas and the problems still persist. When i first moved in it was working ok but randomly not working then it finally gave out. Every time i insert the mouse receiver it would be like rolling the dice whether it would work or not. I've tried my tablet and my memory stick as well and those don't work either so i know its not a problem with the mouse.

I've looked through forums online and have tried almost everything:

I unplugged the power cord waited and plugged it back in.

I've uninstalled all of the USB Root Hubs

I've unchecked the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

I've updated my Chipset

I've updated my BIOS

I've tried Microsoft Fixit

I've installed the driver for the mouse from its website.

The ONLY thing that seems to work but is only temporary is when I uninstall all of the USB Hub Roots and any software/driver the mouse had installed, then shutting it down, unplugging the power cord from the computer waiting a few minutes then starting it up. When i do that, the mouse will install fine and work "OK" (skipping around every now and then) but still working. but if i leave the computer alone and the mouse still, an hour or two later i hear the removed USB sound and then the mouse doesnt work anymore.

HELP! This is so frustrating.

I've had similar unresolvable problems with a Logitech RX720, tracks perfectly OK. However it has issues with cut and paste in word and graphics format. Struck me as being fine until post W7 SP1, and it functions perfectly in every other PC I've access to.

USB wireless shares the same 2.4Ghz band as WiFi, and DECT telephones, and is also prone to interference from any nearby microwave equipment. Some claim nearby cellular phones can also interfere. Eventually I lost faith in wireless and went back to a wired laser mouse, but do consider possible RF interference factors.
