USB keyboard & mouse not responding

Good afternoon. Here's the situation, my wife owns a Dell Studio desktop. Last week the usb keyboard and mouse are not responding. I tried the following: shutdown the computer; unplug and plug the usb mouse and keyboard; and tried other usb ports. None of these trials work. If anyone has experienced this issue and solved it, please share.

What kind of keyboard and mouse is it? Is it a factory dell wired keyboard/mouse or a aftermarket wireless keyboard/mouse?? If its aftermarket; is it logitech? if its logitech. you probably will have to try and use a spare wired keyboard/mouse if its wired and go to the logitech site and find the software and or driver(s) for it.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
The usb mouse and keyboard are Dell products.
