I am (kind of) a happy user of W7 and am not considering to move to Ten too soon. However with the official expiration of it I can see in a near future the software companies stopping to care about the compatibility of their releases with W7 as they did with XP in the past.

I remember that the ONLY reason why I quit XP was because the issues trying to install new releases that wouldn't install / work on XP.

The point here is... I know that there is a big difference between XP and 7 cores to justify several Seven programs not to work on XP. But... there is such similar difference between 7 and 10 so briefly there will be releases that won't install on 7?

Hii

Depends on your definition of the near future.

In reality W7 is NOT dead, if it was MS would not be issuing AFTER EOL updates, fair enough thats not for non-commercial users , like you and me, and i cant see AV or Browser support coming to an end for at least 5 years, before they drop it

It may also be that Simplix and DISM++ will provide them to the day to day users.

in case you guys did not notice,

Google Chrome plans to support Windows 7 for another 18 months until mid-July 2021:

How Chrome is helping enterprises still using Windows 7 | Google Cloud Blog

after that time, future versions of Chrome may drop Win7 support

for now, most AV & web browser apps will run on Win7 until these antivirus makers & web browser vendors say otherwise

I was not thinking about AV or browsers. I am a professional daily user tied to Microsoft tools such as VS and MSSQL and also I use some other specialized software from Adobe and Corel. This is my level of concern...
