Hi All,
Currently I have two drives (C: System and Apps and D: Data (photos, music etc)

I have bought an SSD and intend to format C: for backup and run the os from the SSD.

Can I simply then plug in my D: (photos, music etc) drive and expect it to reference the files as if nothing has happened? Bear in mind in was the previous instance of the o/s that filed all this data.

I guess it's almost plug and play, but is there anything I should be aware of?

Help much appreciated.

D is a different drive than C. So formatting C shouldn't effect it at all. All you'd need to do is put the new SSD in, install the OS, and have the other drives in for data. After that, you should be good to go.
