I found with both the 6956 and the 7000 install, the wake up on mouse move doesn't work, I have to re-boot,

Has anyone else had this problem, Bios is set to enabled.

What type of mouse do you have?

Are you using any type of USB to PS2 adapters?

Does the keyboard wake up the computer?

I've randomly encountered this. Sometimes I can get it to wake up, sometimes I can't. Also running no password on wake up. What will happen with me is I can see the cursor, but that's it. Just a mouse cursor and a black screen. Moving the mouse doesn't seem to work, the cursor just stays where it is (usually the middle of the screen).

Dj, yours is probably something coming in via Network needing to wake it up - I know *exactly* what mine is - I have my router set to forward syslog packets to my machine, but haven't gotten around to actually installing a syslog daemon, so every now and again my router sends my machine a packet or group of packets, waking the machine up.

The kewl thing is that the machine usually goes back to sleep within 5-10 minutes...

USB Optical
No
No

However I have now solved the problem,
Go into Device Manager>> right click "Mouse" and Properties>>Power Management, remove tick from "Allow Device to wake Computer.
OK

This only works with 6956 and 7000 apps,
Vista retains the tick,
Don't ask me why, its just that it does.

I was doubtful when I did it.:D

Thats strange. Would that not do the opposite? Also fwiw, I can do it in my Vista installation.
Djhallucn8,s problem reuqires the opposite. Right click the network adapter in the Device manager. Click properties - Power management, and UNtick the square "Allow this device..etc.

@wysiwig - what mouse are you using, and which drivers?

I have never had a problem removing that or enabling that since XP, all the way up until now....
