What's the best way to get WMC onto my TV?

I'm gonna be moving to a new house soon and I think it's a perfect chance to revamp my media setup.

I love WMC, currently use it for everything.

I've got a nice HD TV and I'd like to be able to use WMC on it to access all my media. I've heard that I'll need a Media Centre Extender but the only thing I can find is....an XBox 360, which I don't want.

Is an extender really the only way to get WMC on my TV?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm on Windows 7 Pro.

All you need is a cable from your Gfx-Card to your HDTV. For instance mine is DVI from PC to HDMI to HDTV. I use it for everything, TV, Movies, Gaming, Music & Browsing the Internet, all on a 40" hdtv 1920*1080p!!

Ah, I should have elaborated more.

I want to be able to use WMC interactively on my TV. I dismissed the cable route because I'd have to go all the way into my bedroom, select what I want then run back to the TV room!

Unless I have an IR receiver in the living room running through a (Loooooooong) USB cable to the PC in the bedroom....but then there's still the issue of having to switch output channels on the PC each time I want to watch something on the TV.

I guess I just want a more elegant solution!

Hi

You have 3 main choices:

1/ Move your PC within remote control range of your TV and use the option that 'Anthony' suggested to connect your PC - My recommendation;
2/ Leave your PC where it is and connect via a long cable but use a Remote Control extender to control your PC from in front of your TV Tech Help - Invisible Multi-Room Remote Extender (LRRX);
3/ Use an XBox 360 as an extender - the only extender option available at the moment.
