Getting straight to the point,I'm having a issue with my wifi driver. What started off small and happened
from time to time grew into something big and annoying and keeps happening every few hours. Basically my wifi driver would basically just crash. I'm using "Intel r centrino r wireless n 2230".Basically this driver has began to cause quite a bit of damage and heres how. After the wifi drops, there is no chance of re-enabling it.
Any attempts to do this have been met with failure. I've tried running the troubleshooter just in case only for it to tell me that it "Can't find any problems". I find this weird since the driver just up-and-quit so mmhm..
When my PC closes it crashes it then too which is really stupid but it does. After looking into the blue screens it was caused by "Driver power state failure". What faulty driver do i have? The wifi driver. Theres more to it.Any and all attempts,After the driver crashes,(Disable or uninstalling it) through the device manager have been met with complete and utter failure. When attempting to do so Device manager will simply freeze and crash. Things really start going sour. I've done a check for viruses,I've even taken to a tech and nothing. How can one driver cause this much damage? I can't just not use it anymore. Not sure what to do at this point.
Sure i would like to keep using the internet but i can't let this piece of crap driver keep crashing everything.
Overall performance of the computer is great and operates normally. When the driver crashes the computer still functions properly. Only when device manager is launched will there be freezing. When resetting the PC it will have to be done with the power button (after the driver has crashed). Attempting to reset the "Proper" way will be met with a blue screen and error "Power_driver_state_failure". After doing the logs it points to the wifi driver since things tend to go wrong after it crashes. I don't have any other drivers that do this or cause my pc so act this way. It's annoying and i'm ready to rip my face off over it tbh. Here is what i've done so far

- Reinstalled the driver
- Checked for other drivers
- Uninstalled unknown devices (Recently)
- Checked for a driver update (Failed)[Told me it was "up to date" but the driver itself dates back to 2015]
- Preformed several virus scans
- Ran registry cure pro to correct any registry errors (Seems fine)

What i'm about to do

- Run more virus scans
- Run more registry scans
- Re-install it (Again..)
- Get lenovo support to talk to me (In the morning)
- Rage
- Disable it for tonight just to see if it crashes in the morning

Hi Aunino,
apparently your not the only one

I couldn't be more pleased to say that I'm fixed! -happy dance! I learned a LOT! tried everything everyone said.... But the upshot was this little piece I found on another site:
terrykav614 months ago I tried everything suggested in these posts with no luck and after months of randomly limited WiFi and general connectivity problems on Windows 8.1 I finally managed to get it to work properly. I figured this out, pretty much accidentally, but it works.
In advanced TCP/IP settings under IPv4 protocol settings put Gateway and Interface metric to 1 instead of Automatic. Now PC connects to network a little bit slower than usual, but with no connectivity problems.
This is mostly for people with Intel WiFi card, Centrino-N 2230 on Lenovo ThinkPad 530c in my case, because picking Intel driver from list instead of Microsoft's (like suggested for Broadcom in some comments) won't work. Hope this could help.

.....And now I'm back online. I've reposted his comment because, like me - he tried to fix this problem for months! Hopefully, this will help the next person.
I am truly grateful for all your help here Jonathan! -Jeannie

Issue Resolved

After basically removing the driver Annndd it's software and reinstalling it ,Everything seems to
be A-ok. I haven't had any problems. Apparently the current software i had was beyond repair
and needed to be completely removed. It's unsure how it got so corrupted in the first place
but i'm just glad the struggle is over ~

- Cheers, Aunoni
