Will a Recovery disc from another laptop work on mine ?

Since I'd already linked Clean Reinstall Windows 7 it's too bad you didn't follow it like a million others have who now have the best installs of WIn7 possible. Instead you reimported the HP bloatware as though missing the entire point of it being a clean install.

You'd also know the difference between drivers and full software packages. I'm not going to repeat the tutorial steps you ignored but the drivers should first come from Windows Updates and only after they are all done should any still missing in Device Manager be imported - usually no more than one or two. Software should only be imported if missing a needed function.

So I'm not sure why you came here for help and then completely ignored the whole point of going to all the trouble for a reinstall, making it twice the job with half the results.

I'm sorry i did follow that tutorial completely, i guess it's just that im so used to the bloatware that i couldn't help not install it again. I did not install all the bloatware though, there is still alot missing, I just installed those that I have use of.

I also want to create a logical partition named "Image" and put the system image there, just in case of later restore purposes. Is that fine ? what if i put the system image in Volume "C" itself ? which one would be better ?

Placing the image on the same hard drive defeats the purpose of it being truly a backup image since it would die with the Hard Drive and OS. But if you want one on the hard drive in addition or because you have no external drive or network support, then simply shrink C by the size of its used space, create a Primary partition there with any letter, then save the backup image there.

USB with Win7 HP SP1 x64 installation not booting to setup

So i updated to Windows 10 since my laptop had the available upgrade notification from Microsoft. However, after using Windows 10 for a few months, I just don't feel the efficiency as it was with Windows 7, so I decided to go back to Windows 7.

I followed your tutorial like last time, but my USBs are not booting up, i tried three different USBs. I tried to see if Legacy boot is enabled, but there is no such option in my boot system configuration. I used Rufus/Windows 7 usb tool both with no results. I see the USB in the boot option, but when I select it to boot, it doesnt boot up; it boots up my current Windows 7.

P.S. I managed to install Win7 using a DVD but it's not a UEFI installation.

So, it doesn`t need to be UEFI, there`s no benefit.

I want it to be UEFI ? My laptop supports it, so I want to utilize it. I made the USB using standard MBR Partition for windows setup and it booted perfectly, but when i use the GPT Partition, the usb isnt bootable anymore.

I have already followed that tutorial to make the UEFI USB, but it's not booting up. Ive done it 4/5 times before, so I know im doing it right. The USB boots up if i Formst it as MBR partitioned for CSM/UEFI computers option from Rufus.

The thing is that the options for boot mode (Legacy/UEFI) from boot Menu have disappeared. It's no longer there.

You have created a uefi installer, you are using a gpt disk, and you have chosen uefi in the bios, correct ?

I dont have a UEFI option or any other option in my boot menu as i said before, even legacy or CSM isnt there; I have no idea why.

Anyways, I formatted it as MBR, and everything works perfectly. So, considering what you said that using UEFI doesnt really matter much: Thanks
