My old computer has Windows 7 and my new computer also has this operating system. When I use my Easy Transfer cable to get my files and settings from one computer to the other, will I need a monitor attached to both to get the job done? Or is one monitor sufficient? If one is OK, which computer should it be hooked up to - the old one or the new one?

Hi!
I think you should only need one monitor. Of course, both PCs most be powered on. If you need the monitor on the second (the old one) PC, you can always unplug it from the new computer to the old one. Of course, to initiate the transfer, you need to connect the monitor to the new PC.

I haven't done a Windows Easy Transfer before. That's "IT common sense". ;) Give it a try, it won't hurt. Then, if I am wrong, everybody will have learn something today. :)

Hope it helps!
