Solved Win 7 Rescue Disk

I was wanting to make an iso file of the Win 7 Rescue disk. Win 7 only writes one to a CD it does not create an iso file for you. I tried Image Burn but all it makes is a bin file. I found iso files on the web but am wondering if they are legit as well as usable. In addition I am wondering if a disk should be made from an SP1 package to be effective with SP1.

It doesn't matter so much now if your disk is made with or without the service pack package as there's a trick shown here to make it run either way - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html.
I downloaded an ISO to use on a Multiboot Usb and it works fine, just use a reputable site.

Danny, you misunderstood. Hammerhead's looking for a system repair disk iso, not a full win7 install dvd.

Hammerhead, if you have an optical drive in your computer, just create a system repair CD the usual way, then use any iso burning program to save that disk as a an iso on your hard drive. There, now you have an iso. If you don't want to waste a CD, use a rewritable one.

Lol yer sorry mixed up a few threads. It is possible to download a repair disk Iso though but Bill2's way is much safer

After reading that tut, if I was in a crash it might be smoother to do a clean install. I will load up one of the iso files I got from the net and take a look at it. Thanks for the reply.

I followed the How To orginally. ImgBurn wanted to do a bin file. This time I selected an iso. I got a message that it would have to make some adjustments to make an iso. I clicked yes and it wrote an iso. I'll try the iso out later. Thanks guys for holding my hand.
