Win7 activation in another country

Hi,

I live in Inda and I bought Win7 Home prim in India. The box says it is an edition specially for India and activation only in India. I want to install this windows 7 on my computer in the Netherlands. Will I get problems activating my windows?

Hmm. Seems like MS may be localizing their activation servers.

Are you sure it says activation is only within India?

If so they probably enforce it by ISP address, but maybe not as that would be complicated. Try it and see.

You can also call them and ask. Tech support is included in all retail purchases worldwide.

The box says:

Activation restrictions. Distribution and required activation must occur in India.

If I activate the windows by phone with the help from somebody in India. Only the finalising of the activation will be in the Netherlands.

According to tech.support I can activate this Windows outside the country. I don´t trust the answer, it is very difficult to say no in India.

If you run into problems, call back tech support and have them help you.

My experience with 10 years of MS tech support is that it is worth more than the product price, earning me an advanced education in clean reinstalls, debugging, virus huntin, optimization, etc.

If you don't get the help you need, always politely hang up and call back.

I could not activate online, wrong land code, but I managed to activate by phone.
