Hi there!
This is my first post here (kidna feel like a leecher) but I have been dealing with the generic "Stop 0x124" error. My system was running fine, then I got a virus (possibly timebomb, never figured out where it came from) and I 'removed' it with bitdefender. The computer was still having problems with BSODs, and it was a completely different error each time. I got fed up and reinstalled windows. Now I just get the 0x124 randomly and when I play "Splinter Cell: Conviction". I got a few of those before I reinstalled too, but never before I got the virus.
My response to http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html
1. I removed overclocking (hasn't BSOD'ed yet, but idk. I'll start gaming)
2. I think it's fairly cooled, and with AC on and the thermometer reading around 100 at all times
3. After the 7 install I installed all my drivers again with the updated ones, I also contacted XFX and they were pretty sure it wasn't at fault of the GFX card
4. ehm. I can try this if nobody has a better suggestion?
5. When I tried updating to SP1 on 7 (the virus'ed up 7), a file corrupted and thats another reason why I reinstalled... I'm scared to try that again.
6. Memory and the disk checked out OK
7. I did just reinstall?

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64bit
- the original installed OS on the system? The system was custombuilt, and I installed 7 on it though it's been reinstalled twice.
- an OEM or full retail version? full retail (legit, I may add)
- What is the age of system (hardware)? I built it 6 months ago
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 3 days ago

I hope you are able to help, this is a wonderful community that I'd like to become a part of.
