Hi guys;

Im having in a bit of trouble here. My computer crashes every now and then giving me a BSOD. The computer was running fine on Vista Ultimate (x32), I decide to upgrade to Windows 7 since my computer passed the upgrade test. The windows was running fine until I decided to add a new DVD drive to the system.

Ever since I have added the new drive the system started crashing. So i tried removing the old drive that didnt help. I tried removing the new drive still the same BSOD.

This once happend to me before on Windows Vista at that time my audio driver wasnt updated. Now All my drivers are up to date well except my web cam (ZSMC Z0211). The same driver worked fine with vista plus i had it installed for a good long week before the crashes.

My System specs are:

OS - Windows 7 Ultimate (x32)
Motherboard - intel D102GGC2
CPU - Intel Pentium D 2.6GHz
Graphics - nvidia 8500GT
HDD - Segate 160 x 2
RAM - 2 Kingston
DVD1 - (Samsung) TSST CORP ST-H625L (Old IDE)
DVD 2 - HpDVD 1270 (new SATA)

I am attaching the Mini dump file with this. windebug tells me the problem is with a file called "ntkrnlpa.exe ( nt+93d42 )". I ran memtest it told both sticks are fine repoted no errors.

YOUR HELP SHALL BE GREATLY APRECIATED. Thanking you all in advance

PS : Sorry for the long text

Hi and welcome

I took a quick look at the dumps. the files varied but the results the same. You have at least two seperate problems.

One memory corruption. I noticed you say you ran memtest. The only memory test that really is going to make your memory bleed is memtestx86 run overnight. the reason to run for a long periods of time is to stress the memory and if there is a heat issue it will show.

Second some sort of hardware problem. could also be the memory or an old driver which you have at least 3 that are 2 years or more older.

here is what I would do
Run memtestx86 for min 8 hours
run a system file check to verify and repair your system files
to run type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

If you are overclocking STOP
if you have a raid update its drover

Also update the important drivers, bios, video, etc

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 829b3968, memory referenced
Arg2: 00000002, IRQL
Arg3: 00000000, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 82aded42, address which referenced memory
