Windows 7 build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine error

so ive had this happen before and usually going to command prompt and typing SLMGR -REARM works but this time it said "Error:0xC004D307 the maximum allowed number of re-arms have been exceeded.you must re install the OS before trying re-arm again" after i did it


i was thinking about just taking my computer to the place that custom built it and seeing what they can do but im wondering before i do that if there's any other way i can fix this.because usually i just type the slmgr -rearm in the command prompt and it works


oh and i guess i should add,before it says this it pops up with a error saying something about windows 7 home premium product key is invalid for activation.im wondering if i shouldnt just buy another copy of windows 7 and install it because im wondering if the copy that was installed on my pc in the first place wasnt a legit copy

FYI slmgr-rearm only works 3X

If the shop sold you it as as a genuine OS, assume you have a years guarentee i'd have a go at them saying you want a proper licence

i probably would of did that before i posted this but i kind of read that post after i posted this


however,would taking it to the place that built it and buying a legitimate OS be the best option? my main concern right now is i just dont want it to lock me out because of this,or is it just going to keep giving me annoying messages?


also,i just today found out after looking it up that slmgr-rearm only works a limited number of times.i dont know,the more i think about it the more i think i should just take my computer to the place that i got it custom built at and try to just get another copy of windows 7 and have it reinstalled.or would that still not matter and its more the liscense? usually slmgr-rearm works and its just an annoying product key invalid error but i tried doing it today and it gave me some message ive never seen and it still says this copy of windows is not genuine

i did that but when i tried to post the results it said something about a moderater needing to approve my post,

if you read this before my edit.nevermind what i put,apparently brink edited my post and posted it.however,im still wondering if taking it to the place i got it custom built at and just having them deal with it is my best option,my main concern is just.can i still use my computer without it locking me out because of this issue

Hi

The product key in use is from an OEM computer, Dell/HP/Lenovo etc.
It requires a SLIC table to activate which is installed by the above during manufacture, as you have a Retail motherboard its not present.
The shop should not have used it, as i said before go back to the shop and ask for a proper key

Your system will function properly apart from a few personalisation exceptions, and the Non genuine nag.

There are few if any retail Win7 DVD or product keys for sale. You will most likely get an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Win7 DVD which will only work on that specific manufacturer's computer.
