Windows 7 driver solution

hi all,
i ve seagate barracuda 3,5" 7200.10 320gb IDE hard disc.
im tie up it with IDE-USB transformer to my computer (FS Amilo pi 2540) but windows 7 does not recognize it.
does anybody have an idea about solution?

@26mi24, does windows show anything in Device Manager (Unknown Device or similar)? You may have some options.

1 If it's an 'Unknown Device' you may ba able to right-click & 'Update' driver. This should search Windows Update for drivers.
2 Try to google search for drivers.
3 If your HD came with an installation CD (some do), then try installing the drivers from the CD. I've had issues sometimes when hardware is not recognised untill the software is installed & not when it's plugged in.

p.s. i'm using an external 250GB IDE HD & it's detected every time so I can't see why yours would not

this is an internal HD not external. i want to use it with IDE-USB transformer.

The only other thing I can think of is to try the latest build (7068) as it's got a lot more device drivers than when 7000 first appeared. I take it you're using build 7000?

Plus it's a lot more stable

You should just be able to run the file in compatability mode (XP,Vista). I've done the same with my Laptop graphics driver.

Additional: You'll need to 'Save' the file then right-click & select the compatability tab.

i upgraded my OS to win 7 build 7068, but at this time windows 7 gives an different error (Code 43) when i plugin my hard drive

Well here is my story...

Im running Win7 RC 64-bit as a clean install. My internet device is a Curitel Communications PC-5740 PCMCIA card (connects to Sprint EVDO). The Sprint software will install just fine but it will not access the card. It keeps coming up as "Other Device" with the yellow indicator by it.

The vista drivers i've found out on the interent wont be picked up when i try to update the driver. I keep getting the message that windows cant find the drivers.

I even disabled "Driver Enforcement" and still nothing. I am pretty much stumped right now...

Any ideas?

Double click that "other device" select the details tab and then hardware ids from the drop-down list. Copy each line displayed into a reply to this post.

No 64-bit support. You'll have to contact Curitel or your carrier or use 32-bit. Unless you have 4GB RAM or more you will see zero benefit from struggling against 64-bit.
