Windows 7 Freezes After Waking Screen

So I've had this issue for a while. Basically what happens is if I let the notebook sit for a while, it will automatically turn off the screen to save power. Then when I shake the mouse or something to bring the screen back, sometimes, but not always, the computer will freeze so that the mouse can move around the screen, but for about a minute it will not be able to interact with anything, nor will any keyboard shortcuts work.

Any ideas?

I think I may have fixed this error by updating my BIOS to the F.12 version.

If you're on an HP laptop, and are experiencing this problem, try updating the BIOS, if it's not already.
